RACE RESULTS

We expected a tough race today with the humidity and the front to the north of us but not this tough. We want to congratulate the winners so far and we still have 2 money places left. It is hot but mostly the thick humidity is keeping it very uncomfortable at this time. We hope to get more birds this evening. We will update this way until we get enough birds to do a printout.

We have 21 birds back but one of them was a bird that was lost several weeks ago , so 20 race birds are back. We will pull the clock later today and post the shipping list and race results from the clock. Thanks to all those who supported our summer race. The rain kept the birds at bay most of race day afternoon and evening and then on the second day there was rain south of us along the coarse. This made it hard for them to get up and come home. We will get more back this week and will update for the next few weeks to keep you informed. There were 50 plus people here for the race which was a great turn out. Although the race was tough and the wait was long for birds we hope they enjoyed the visit and food.

The birds are up !!  After a sleepless night and watching the weather radar relentlessly I finally decided that it would be best for the birds if we put them up at Denton (160 miles). The rain is moving in on OKC and we think we can get them here before any heavy rain moves into the area. It will be close. We do not know how this will turn out but we do know the birds have a clear shot all the way to OKC at this time with a SW wind at their tail. We will post the shipping list and the results a bit later but I will tell you every bird from the last toss went and a couple that returned since also went. 53 birds were shipped. We will have live video on around 8:30 this morning. Happy forth and good luck to all.

We hope you enjoy the live video. We know it is not perfect but at least you can feel like you are here with us on race day. You can view the video on full screen but it will not be as clear. If you do want to see full screen just click on the symbol that shows 4 arrows facing different directions. Video will be turned on around 9:00 am. We will put the birds up Saturday morning at 6:30 am or no later than 6:45 am. Due to the change in the wind forecast we have decided to take the birds to the Fort Worth Texas Area for release ( closer to 200 miles for them). They will have a stronger tail wind than we originally thought and we want some separation in the birds. The winds now are to be SW 10-20 mph shifting to the north with rain late tomorrow. Arrival will be hard to pin point but if the winds come up early we could still have birds around 10:00 at 60 mph or as late as 11:00 am if the winds are lighter over half the coarse. Temps for Saturday will be 100 degrees plus by afternoon. Good luck to all of you and thanks for supporting this race. It's been hard training in the early heat but these birds have proved that stamina is something they have a lot of !  Have a happy and safe 4th of July and remember those who fight for the freedom we all have and those that gave their life for us in the past.
